A Place Inbetween

My DIY Disaster

I’ve always fancied myself as a bit of  DIY expert. I’ve successfully manages to install blinds, windows and even managed to put up my own Wendy House last weekend, after a series of successful jobs I decided to tackle handling my own power shower re-installation.

In February my shower started playing up, occasionally providing hot water but giving me the dreaded “low pressure” warning every 5-10 minutes, so for a few seconds I’d be freezing cold. I could cope with this and to be quite frank didn’t have the funds to pay a £50 an hour plumber/electrician to replace the unit. Unfortunately in retrospect I should have paid the plumber…

In my attempts to replace the solenoid valve I managed to split the water-tight seal, crack the PCB and shred the protective rubber around the positive and negative electrical wires. My power shower now resembles something closer to a torture device than a shower as any attempt to use it would surely result in a rather electrifying shower.

If anyone knows of a cheap plumber that can repair my damage in the Essex area please leave a message and I’ll be in touch!
